We had often read about the Wild Horse Refuse on Cumberland Island. Most people take a ferry over and hike several miles to try and catch a glimpse of them. James is not your "hiking kind of guy" but said we could anchor for a couple of hours and maybe we would see one.........well, there they were, all along the coast....like a welcoming club...twenty of them in all. What a great thrill to watch them.....I think everyone loves the thought there is a place where they are protected and run free. Now, granted....they were mostly eating in the marsh grasses....not one them looked up or did anything "wild" but we were both delighted to see them.
