Lemon Bay to Ft. Meyers Beach - May 4th

My Post:
We have made it to Ft. Meyers Beach and will stay here a few days to tidy up the old boat, fix the windless, and washdown and visit with one of Rennie's friends. We are on the Ball ( $13.75 a day) and dinghy in for Laundry and West Marine.
Lake Okeechobee is down to 3.51 ft. and we can't cross so, we will have to go down the west coast all the way to the Keys (Marathon) then back up thru Miami to Stuart which will take an additional 7 to 8 days.

Rennie's Post:
Brooke, who lives on Sanibel Island, met us at the Marina and James took us for a drink to do a little catch-up on Brooke's romance. An old beau from 25 years ago is back in her life and I wanted details!!!!! He's a former Royal Canadian Mounted Police and it was exciting to hear the latest on their love story. She arrived with 2 pounds of beautiful shrimp...yum....yum and one of her favorite cheese "Fromages d'Affinois", an unbelievably soft "melt in your mouth" delight. How did I live all these years without it. We drank a little wine, told a few stories and a good time was had by all. She's a great friend and never fails to make me laugh myself silly

Hi Rennie

Looks like you're having a great time! I have been reading through the blogs and looking at the pictures (they look beautiful). I'm ready to take a cruise, I need a vacation! Good luck with all the new adventures!
