We visited Yorktown first and although it was very interesting, there's really not much to take a picture of......you just listened to the history lesson and tried to picture it all happening. Having grown up in Norfolk, I am embarrassed to say that I had never been to either Yorktown OR Williamsburg. But I was determined to make amends and get to both of them. Also, for my penance I went to Two......not one, but TWO Marine Museums. The guys were proud of me!!!
Williamsburg was very interesting....at least we tried to imagine how life must have been in 1776. I admit it was difficult to imagine with 50 thousands other people tramping around. We also had to park a long way and walk down the streets with all the shops . Took something away from the old Colonial look. Except a stop at an ice cream shop.....Pralines and Cream does help to get you into that "old time mood". Also, a quick stop in Barnes and Noble added to our Colonial experience. Williamsburg was actually a very pretty city and we did enjoy our day.
