Standing At Attention

West Point was so powerful looking....so massive, it made you want to stand at attention just looking at it. So much history, so much pride....it was one of my favorite sights.

The Hudson River so far has been beautiful.....each mile prettier than the next. The weather has been outstanding....mornings so cool you need a light jacket (definitely my kind of weather). Seeing the commuter trains running along the Catskill Mountains edge...the many Castles and Mansions....even the smaller houses are lovely. Since they have a lot of Dutch History here, the towns all have that quaint, Dutch feel about them. We stayed a couple of days in Kingston, which by the way, was the First Capital of New York.

We anchored out one night in Havershaw Bay....which is a big weekend boating getaway. There must have been close to 100 boats there when we arrived. Lots of families and friends, having a grand time. It was fun watching everyone.....we dinged around and said hello to all our boat neighbors.
