Enough Locks!!!!!

More Locks....one of them took us up 40 feet. I am learning to take the boat into the canal while James has to crew. Don't you know he was more scared than I...and I was pretty scared of crashing into the sidewalls. I did okay the first one....the second one was better but the third time was NOT the charm. I had the boat going sideways and "Lightnin Jim" had to come to the rescue. I was shaking in my deck shoes..............

We stopped off at Herkimer; they have a large gift shop and it was interesting to walk around. Then it was another lock and into Utica, which is somewhat of a blur because our refrigerator went on the blink. What a thankless mess that was....we got everything into a cooler and then had to walk to town and get some ice. We put the ice in garbage bags and threw them over our shoulders and tramped back over a large bridge with lots of traffic. Do you have a big 8x10 of THAT look......bag people......

Also, that day, James decided he needed to have the boat pulled and the props checked out. So the next morning it was up early, through more darn locks....whipped right past Sylvan Beach and flew across Lake Onieda and into Brewerton NY. Whew!!! are we having fun yet...
